Daycare is booked and charged as an additional service. Please schedule daycare concurrently with boarding if you wish for your dog to go to daycare daily, every other day, or even just a few times per week while boarding.

Boarding Policies
Appointments
- Appointments are required and booked on a first-come basis
- All reservations need approval. Clients will receive a confirmation email upon approval
- Reservations open 6 months in advance
- Clients can board their companions for a maximum of 3 weeks per reservation
Cancellation Policy
- Notice must be given by 72 business hours prior to the stay with the exception of stays over holidays, which require 7 business days’ notice
- Late cancellations or no shows will forfeit their deposit

Medications

- All medications must be in their original bottles or bags with labels
- Prescription medications require the medical label
- Over-the-counter items must include a tape label provided by the owner with instructions
- MVP Resort can guarantee medication administration to our furry guests within the following windows: 6AM through 8AM & 6PM through 8PM.
- Please note: We cannot guarantee medication administration at a specific time within these windows. Medications will be administered anywhere between 6AM-8AM and 6PM-8PM.
Food
- We ask that you pre-measure your pet’s food into individual bags to eliminate mistakes.
- We do not accommodate mid-day meals.
- If clients do not provide pre-packaged meals, our staff will apply a single fee of $35 per guest for packaging the meals.
- We do not accept raw food diets; examples include, raw meat, fish, eggs, bones and more.
Belongings
We request that you leave all bedding, blankets, toys, and non-medically necessary items safe at home. This ensures that your pet’s favorite belongings are ready for them when they return home from their staycation. The resort will provide all boarding pets with Kuranda beds.
Payment
Deposit of 50% required at scheduling and the remaining balance will be paid at pick-up.
Palliative Care
For pets with life-limiting illnesses, such as senior pets (16+ years), those with terminal cancer, congestive heart failure, or uncontrolled diabetes.
Meal Toppers
Adding any items to food outside of pre-packaged meals.
Holiday Fees
A holiday surcharge will be applied to any pet boarding reservation that includes any part of the 14-day holiday window, which is defined as the seven days immediately before and the seven days immediately after a major holiday.
Multi-Dog Separate Feedings
A surcharge for clients requesting siblings be separated during meals.

What is the evaluation ($40)?
Drop-off: 8 AM – 11 AM
Pick-up: Any time after the 3-hour evaluation, by 6 PM.
What to Expect
- First 30 minutes: One-on-one time to help your furry family get comfortable with our team and facility.
- Next 2.5 hours:
- Daycare/Both Daycare & Boarding: Structured introduction to a playgroup.
- Boarding Only: Focus on kennel comfort, behavior around new people, and general adaptability. This includes no dog-to-dog interaction.
- After the evaluation: You’ll receive a report card summary. If your furry family is eligible, you can start booking reservations.
How many potty breaks will my pet be allowed? Will they be walked outside?
Dogs that do not participate in Daycare will get two opportunities to play freely in our playroom, which has grass turf and a state-of-the-art drainage system. On quieter days, we’ll combine playrooms (when appropriate) to encourage fun socialization with furry friends of all sizes. They also get taken out mid-day as an additional chance to use the bathroom. We do not walk pets outside for their safety.
Who will watch my pet overnight?
Drift off to sleep knowing your furry friend is in the best paws possible! Our dedicated custodial team of certified animal lovers takes the midnight shift at MVP Resort, providing contactless supervision. For nights when our custodial team isn’t on-site, rest assured your pet is still nestled in secure comfort. Our state-of-the-art security system keeps a watchful eye throughout the night, offering peace of mind for both you and your precious companions.
Can my dog participate in Daycare while boarding?
Yes, if your dog is eligible for group play at their Temperament Evaluation, you can request Daycare days through your client portal as an additional service.
Why does my dog need a consultation and temperament evaluation?
At Mainstay, it’s important that we understand the mechanics of your canine companions’ physical, emotional, and educational needs. That’s why we’ve taken the extra step of scheduling a consultation with our Dog Training Specialist Lead as the first step in booking any boarding, daycare, grooming, or training services. This will help us gauge exactly what your pet(s) need(s), understand your overall caregiving and training goals, and establish an awesome caregiving program tailored to your pup(s)’ needs.
We believe that the best way to ensure your pet(s)’ happiness and well-being while they are staying with us is to have a clear understanding of their individual needs and preferences. By scheduling a consultation with our Dog Training Specialist Lead, we will be able to ask you a series of questions about your pet(s)’ behavior, temperament, and training history. We will also observe your pet(s) interacting with you and other people and animals. This information will help us to develop a personalized caregiving program that is tailored to your pup(s)’ specific needs.

How are boarding rates calculated?
Our boarding rate of per 24-hour period is used to calculate a “per minute” charge so that you are charged for exactly how much time your pet is here. If you drop-off a little earlier than planned, no problem! If you pick-up a little bit later than scheduled, no problem. Our system will automatically do the math and assign the proper charge. You are only charged for the exact time your pet is here.
